Light at the end of the tunnel. Approach with caution.
Monday 19th July, Happy Freedom Day! But how free are we? And is there a chance we could lose that freedom if another lockdown were to occur with cases on the rise?
Today marks the day where England, throw their masks up in the air, as if it is graduation day. No more rules! We can jubilate as nations and get back to our normal lives as if all of this never happened. Scotland also falling to level 0 with minimal restrictions in place. It is a reason to cheer and be happy but is there a fear in the back of everyone's mind - is this too good to be true?
We are only 15 hours into freedom and we already have the headlines:
"Boris Johnson to hold briefing as lateral flow kits run out on day restrictions ease" (The Guardian)
"Lifting all restrictions at once is reckless, says Sir Keir Starmer" (BBC News)
"Freedom Day will cause a 'mad' spike in Covid cases and 'tens of thousands' will die if nation rushes back to normal...." (Daily Mail)
It is up to us as nations to act smartly. Making sure we continue to follow the easy steps that we have over these last few months. Get vaccinated. Wear your mask. Sanitise your hands. Following these methods will help prevent the cases from spreading, and stop another lockdown come Autumn/Winter time.
The team at Sanitiser Express want to help businesses stay open by applying the appropriate safety measures.
Signage - Let your staff, customers and clients know what they need to do when they enter your shop, workplace, facility, etc. This can easily be done by using posters, floor signs and way-finding signage.
Sanitise - Sanitiser points are crucial. It is evident that we need to sanitise our hands regularly whilst Covid and the Delta variant are continuing to spread at a rapid rate. Investing in Sanitiser Stations or Dispensers could be the difference in keeping your business open. It only takes one customer to receive a close-contact notification forcing you to shut the business down for 10 days.
P.P.E - Visors & Masks can be extremely beneficial when it comes to stopping the spread. COVID-19 spreads mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets. Respiratory droplets travel into the air when you cough, sneeze, talk, shout, or sing. These droplets can then land in the mouths or noses of people who are near you or they may breathe these droplets in. Masks are a simple barrier to help prevent your respiratory droplets from reaching others. Studies show that masks reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth.
